I got a break down of the different steps used in our Waterfall filter. As you will see in the 4th step, we also use Ion Exchange Resin.

PE Pre-Filter (Micro-sponge Filter)
- Removes sediments

Activated Carbon
- Removes pollutants like residual chlorine, colors, unpleasant odors, THMs, detergents, organic compounds, and chemicals

Silver Activated Carbon
- Prohibits Bacteria from growing on itself
 
Ion exchange Resin
- Highly effective in the bio filtration process

Magnesium impregnated carbon
- Makes the water alkaline and low ORP levels 

Pi-Materials
- Removes germs
 
Silica Sand
- Removes viruses, heavy metals and chlorine
