Listen to Call August 21, 2013 Betty moderated the call today.
We started the call today talking about "Coca Cola To Defend Aspartame In New Commercial"
The second topic of conversation related to the health benefits of green tea. This was a continuation of Nancy's call from yesterday. Green Tea has a high concentration of Catechin found in it. This is a type of polyphenol, which is a powerful antioxidant found not only in green tea, but also in garlic, fruits, potatoes, and some varieties of nuts.
Among the several types of catechin that exist, Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCg) is the most powerful antioxidant, and green tea contains much more EGCg than any other kind of tea.

Listen to Call August 14, 2013 Betty moderated the call. What a great call we had today! Nancy brought us information from The Doctors TV regarding music and it's importance for people with memory issues.
Elaine gave us information regarding a program in her area called Behavior Based Ergonomic Therapies. This also deals with people with memory issues such as Alzheimers Disease. It was stated that 47% less drugs were used for patients when using this program.
The last discussion involved a news article titled "How exercise changes cells" written by Gretchen Reynolds for the New York Times ... see at: http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/news/health/how-exercise-changes-cells-698921

Listen to Call August 7, 2013 Call was moderated by Betty. One of the topics today was an article from The Washington Post titled FDA defines glutenless products .... Standard comes 5 years past limit. The article was written by Brady Dennis.
We also continued our discussion from yesterday on lab-grown beef (I'm having trouble even thinking about this one). This Cultured "meat" has already been dubbed "Franken-meat" or even "schmeat". Even if you oppose using animals for food, having someone conjure up something in a lab for the public to eat sends a chill up my spine.
The last topic for today asked the question "Is GM corn responsible for causing epidemic of debilitating, inexplicable disease symptoms?"
